I have a pelvic ultrasound scheduled for 10:00 am tomorrow morning.  I've known for a long time that I have PCOS, but I'm just now getting around to having a diagnosis made.  My bloodwork was all done last month, though I don't have the results yet (thanks to LabCorp being asshats) - but I'll have them to my gyno before my appointment on the 16th of this month).  Now, I have the ultrasound tomorrow.

I guess I'm kinda freaked out about it, because I figure that I'll finally know my "ovarian situation".  I don't know why I am.  I'm not really going to understand what the technicians "see".  Does anyone know if there are certain "results" from a pelvic ultrasound that will either (A) show "Oh, hey, you have PCOS - but, if you respond to the met and/or chlomid and actually ovulate you should be able to conceive" or (B) show, "Hey, you're totally screwed; regardless of what you take hormonally, there's just no physical way you'll be able to ovulate" ?

I guess I'm just trying to prepare myself so I'm not, like, immensely crushed, but still allow myself hope, if there is some; as my husband and I are TTC.  Thanks!

(x-posted, sorry if some people see this a few times!)

Hi everyone, I am starting back on the IR Diet to lose weight and hopefully improve my PCOS symptoms, I started a community here where I plan on posting my goals, food/exercise diary, etc. and I thought I would give you all the link in case any of you are also on the IR Diet and want to join me! Here is the link:

I'm glad I poked around LJ for PCOS communities, I didn't realize there are several here! I joined right up and am looking forward to getting to know you all!

So i thought i'd do a post on my weight loss.

after a few weeks of healthy eating and TONS of excercise i've come down a BMI class!! WOOO!
i'm really happy.
i've never ever wanted to be stick skinny. just healthy.
Plus the more weight i lose the more chance i have of not being infertile.

So just a short post.
Hope everyone is well

so i have an appointment at the endocrine clinic on friday to check my hormones.
then i have a doctors appointment monday for blood tests because the pill i've been taking which controls my hair growth and acne, the doctors think it may be damaging my liver. so i need to think about a whole new route of meds! which is always fun.

if any of you ladies have problems with hair growth i was wondering if you have ever tried the cream Vanic(sp?) it didn't really work to well for me but it helped a bit.
It would be good to know if any one else has tried.

Hope everyone is doing well

Welcome to my community.

It was going to be called Living with PCOS but i pushed the button without noticing i'd gone over my letter limit. Oh well you can't win them all.

A little about me.

My name is Nicola
I am 22 years old
I live in Scotland
i found out i had PCOS at the age of 15.
i got put on dianette then but have just recently been taken off it because my doctor thinks it has damaged my liver slightly (mainly because i've been on it too long.)
I have all the usual symptoms (hair in unwanted places, weight gain that will not come off, break outs of spots etc.)
I also have depression and social anxiety disorder (my doctor thinks because i went through all of this in my teenage years and i'm a highly sensitive person)

I hope we can all be open and honest with each other in here.
I'll try to be around as much as i can to help anyone.
